SpeculatingStocks is a place of free speech and an open platform for expressing stock market related information, sentiment and opinions.
The SpeculatingStocks Pulse Platform is monitored 24 / 7 to make sure the experience remains pristine for users
as possible.
We just don't want a few things to get in the way of the User experience.
There are also items listed below to help protect
investors while using a social media categorized
platform like SpeculatingStocks / SpeculatingStocks Pulse.
+ Do not spam
We do not tolerate spam within Pulses. Low quality posts are downvoted with the 'Sell' button and flagged by other pulse users, and will be deleted. Posting the same pulse repeatedly will also be seen as spam. Spam posts can result in your account being deleted and/or IP Address banned by Pulse Administration. Links to outside sites are allowed but should be links to stock market / stocks / economic / finance content, not to your personal website or blog. Pulse Users are permitted to list their 3 favorite stock market related URLs by going to Customize within Settings. These links must be to stock market, stocks, economic, or finance related sites. Pulse Users are also permitted to list their personal Website or blog by going to Profile within Settings. This is much more linking than offered by other sites, so our administrators will not have tolerance for what they deem as spam within the stream.
+ Do not engage in 'BUY' and
'SELL' manipulation
The 'BUY' and 'SELL' buttons were created for Pulse Users convenience to express and gauge community sentiment towards a Pulse or Stock or SpecStream Component. For example, Pulse Administrators monitor 'BUY' and 'SELL' activity and watch for consecutive 'SELL' activity placed on another Pulse users pulses or on certain content, among other 'BUY' and 'SELL' manipulation. Our system will flag this activity and this can result in your account being deleted and/or IP Address banned by Pulse Administration. Important: *It is not possible to 'SELL' a pulse more than once in five minutes. Flag a pulse if it breaks the Pulse Rules or is otherwise inappropriate. *It is not possible to place a 'BUY' or 'SELL' on your own pulses. If you believe someone is engaging in 'BUY' or SELL' manipulation against you or a stock, alert our support and we will look into it. Take the time to understand more about the 'BUY' and 'SELL' button here: Important Information on 'Buy' and 'Sell' Buttons.
+ Do not harass, denegrate or threaten any person or particular group
This should go without saying, no bullying. We have zero tolerance for harassment, denegration and/or threatening of others. Pulse is for stock market related content, not running down others.
+ Stick to discussion of stocks, stock market, economy, and other finance-related topics
SpeculatingStocks Pulse was built as a social network for investors and traders. It is a niche social network with an audience interested in stocks and the market. As a general rule, stick to what investors and traders talk about together, which includes discussion of stocks, the economy, finance, public companies and business-related topics that drive the market.
+ A Note on Disclosures
Within the Profile tab in Settings, Pulse Users have the ability and are encouraged to disclose any positions they may have as well as biases, business relationships / business relation conflicts, paid compensation, etc. Examples of Disclosure(s): 1) “I am Long $AAPL, $MSFT.” 2) “I Own $AAPL, $MSFT shares.” 3) “I'm Short $AAPL, $MSFT.” 4) “No Current Market Position” 5) Other Personal Positions 6) Any Compensation Received / Any Paid Coverage / Advertising Disclosures (who paid, how much, form of payment, specific stock) 7) Any business relationships / business relation conflicts / biases 8) Other Disclosures / Biases / Etc.
If a user fills in the Disclosures box, then the information is displayed for others to view within the User's Profile View at the right side of the page in that particular user's About box.
Any Pulse User that has received compensation and discusses through a pulse post, mentions through a pulse post, and/or expresses 'BUY' and/or 'SELL' sentiment through the 'BUY' and/or 'SELL' sentiment buttons on/towards the stock and/or company associated with the paid compensation (the stock / company the user has received compensation for) then it is the responsibility of that specific Pulse User to disclose within Disclosures -- who paid them, how much they’re getting paid, and the form of the payment, as well as the specific stock.
+ Double check accuracy of information you post
Accuracy of information is expected and it benefits everyone including yourself as other Pulse Users will place 'BUY' sentiments on your pulses that are useful, stock market related and accurate. Pulse Users may call out inaccurate posts, flag them and/or place 'SELL' sentiment on pulses that contain inaccurate information. As a reader of others pulses, always check a second source for information that you are relying on.
+ Flag Pulses to help us keep the place pristine as possible
At times, Pulse can be a largely self-policing community as we rely on users to flag others pulses that contain derogatory, threatening, inaccurate, off topic, and/or spam content or other violation of our Terms of Use. We appreciate any help that Pulse Users give us to keep the Pulse Community pristine as possible and focused on stock-related content.
+ Remember, public companies are people too, treat companies fairly
All companies deserve a fair shake and they have many people behind them including employees, investors and others. Be fair and accurate in information when discussing a company. Do not spread false rumors or send repeated negative pulses (known as bashing) or repeated positive pulses (known as cheerleading) about a particular stock. Make sure to be careful that there is no perception of manipulation or attempts to create a personal gain from the information being contributed. We recommend that Pulse users disclose positions and biases as part of the discussion of a stock.
+ Of course, include the "$" tag in front of a ticker. I.E. $AAPL
When mentioning a symbol in your pulse content, put the "$" tag in front of the symbol, so that your post shows up in that symbols respective symbol stream. I.E. $AAPL.
